Zakin Estate Wines 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon

Napa Valley, Napa Valley

Red wine from United States

Drinking window: 2018 - 2034

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is powerful, dense and explosive. Dark red cherry, rose petal, mint, smoke, licorice, dark spices and menthol all come alive in the glass. Dramatic and ample on the palate, the 2014 exudes personality. This is one of the most impressive debuts I have seen in Napa Valley in some time.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate comes from the Crystal Springs area of Napa, just below Cakebread Cellars. The wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and exhibits beautiful blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, a touch of wood smoke and charcoal, licorice and underbrush. It is round, juicy, ripe, medium to full-bodied, with silky tannin and adequate acidity. Drink it over the next 15-20 years.

This is a relatively new estate with a tiny production from four acres, as well as a single estate wine.
