Blended of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc aged for 20 months in 74% new French oak, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is deep garnet-purple in color and leaps from the glass with crushed blackcurrants, warm plums and fresh blackberries with hints of violets, star anise, tobacco, underbrush and yeast extract plus a waft of pencil shavings. The palate is medium to full-bodied, firm and grainy with fantastic intensity and energy, finishing on a beautiful mineral note.
